Raphael joined the Board of CJE in the Fall of 2006. He has been active in community service and advocacy efforts in Marin County since 2001.

Raphael has been a member of the Marin County Human Rights Commission since 2002 and currently serves as its Vice Chair. He serves on the Community Action Marin Board, and he is the newly elected Chair of the Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Commission. Raphael is also a member of the Marin County Education and Relocation Committee. He is Chair of the Bay Area Minority Citizen Advisory Committee to the Metropolitan Transit Commission, and has been a Board member of the Action Coalition for People of Color (ACPC) since 2005. Raphael previously served on the Marin County Parks and Open Spaces Commission.

Raphael works in funding for commercial construction, and is the proud father of 10 children, ranging in age from 18 to 33.

Raphael brings a passion for equal justice and extensive governance experience to CJE's Board of Directors, as a result of his tenure on numerous boards and commissions.
